Demi Equine Bodywork is the professional practice of Karen Katzmark, offering mobile bodywork for horses and equestrians throughout Sacramento County and surrounding areas.

Karen has 25 years of experience in therapeutic massage and bodywork, with a professional background spanning clinical, spa, private practice, and massage education settings.

Her work with horses began in 2014 and has grown through more than a decade of hands-on experience, continuing education, and work within barn, equine-assisted learning, and therapeutic program environments. She continues to study equine anatomy, movement, bodywork, and integrative approaches while learning from the horses themselves.

Karen's background in both human and equine bodywork brings a broad perspective to her work. Rather than relying on a single technique or method, she draws from years of education and hands-on experience while responding to the individual horse in front of her.

Her approach is quiet, respectful, and horse-centered. Each session is guided by the horse's responses, with time allowed for pauses, adjustment, and integration. The work is never rushed or forceful.

Demi Equine Bodywork is named for Demi, a horse who became an important part of Karen's journey with horses and bodywork.

Through their relationship, Demi reinforced some of the principles that continue to shape Karen's work today: patience, observation, trust, and the importance of listening before asking for change.
