Hands-on learning opportunities for horse owners, caregivers, and equine-assisted services programs.
Small-group, hands-on workshops are offered for horse owners and caregivers who want to better understand their horse and learn practical ways to support comfort and well-being between professional bodywork sessions.
These workshops provide a guided introduction to working with the horse through touch, observation, movement, and response.
Participants learn basic hands-on skills while developing awareness of tension, posture, movement, and the subtle ways horses communicate. The emphasis is not on memorizing techniques, but on developing observation, timing, and feel.
Workshops are quiet and unhurried, with time for pauses, adjustment, and for each horse to participate at their own pace. No force is used.
Introductory Workshop
This workshop offers a practical, hands-on approach to supporting your horse's comfort and ease of movement.
The goal is not to replace professional or veterinary care, but to help those who know the horse best become more confident observers and active participants in their horse's ongoing care.
Small group: 3–6 participants
Length: Approximately 3–4 hours
Location: Hosted at local barns or facilities
Workshops are offered periodically and may also be arranged for small groups at a host barn or facility.

The work is best learned through experience, with the horse as the teacher.
As a Masterson Method® Equine Specialist, Karen works with equine-assisted services programs to offer participants, volunteers, and staff a guided, hands-on way to support the horses who give so much to people.
The experience encourages participants to slow down, observe the horse's subtle responses, and learn simple ways of working with the horse using principles of The Masterson Method®.
MMES experiences are available for:
Sessions emphasize observation, awareness, responsiveness, and allowing the horse's responses to guide the interaction.
Programs interested in offering an MMES experience are welcome to reach out to discuss their horses, participants, and individual program needs.
